This is a man's sturdy hiking cane, carved in young black alder (Schwarzerle), harvested in central German. (Lüneburger Heide in 2008)
The Templar Cross which crowns this trecking pole, is a frequent emblem carved on the sticks by this artist, for no other reason than the fact that he has seen the cross on numerous buildings and artifacts from early medieval time.
Besides, who knows?... it might bring luck and protection?
Length: 183 cm
