This hiking pole is carved from a young European White Birch tree, harvested near Drammen, Norway, in the summer of 2011.
The pole has three of the four mirrors in the upper part, left uncarved, for the adding of three initials.
As can be seen, the upper part has been carved through for a length of some 25cm.
At the middle part of the stick, the artist has left a twig, which forms a nose with an ornament underneath, in the form of a couple of dangling wooden balls.
A funny small conversation piece, so to say. :-)
